All done!

Adeline checked in to the hospital at about 9am this morning.  She was in good spirits and ready to get the show on the road... until they started talking about the IV.  That is her least favorite part.  They agreed to give her the mask to put her to sleep and then put in the IV's after that.  Good plan! They were running a little behind, so surgery started at 11:30am.  The screws came out easily and in one piece.  It took about two hours.  She is in recovery now and slowly waking up.  Adeline is sore and on pain meds, but gets to come back to Sheridan late tonight.   Brave and strong!

Update... Surgery #2 Tomorrow

Surgery tomorrow to remove hardware at Denver Children's. Please keep Adeline in your prayers! It's been awhile since we've posted - Adeline has been doing really well! It's really quite remarkable what doctors can do and how the body can heal. We know it wasn't easy, but Adeline says she is glad she did the surgery as her pain has decreased tremendously. She had her first surgery January 2019 and worked really hard to recover. Adeline was in a wheelchair, crutches, intensive physical therapy for five months. Returned to normal activity at the end of June 2019. Adeline ran her first cross country season for the junior high team the next fall - loved it! Her end of the season mile time was 6.41.  Did I mention how hard she works at everything she sets her mind to? School basketball and traveling basketball season went well, too.
